Originally by: Yorku I feel I have to express my discontent towards this expansion. As far as I'm concerned, just from having read all the patch notes as well as all of the dev blogs on Tyrannis, this is going to be the worst expansion of all time.
I am running missions for isk so that I can sustain myself as far as buying PvP ships goes. CCP somehow decided that it would be a good idea to lower the minerals gotten from reprocessing the majority of loot. I'm not worried about this because I sell minerals, I've not done that at all. I'm worried about this because lowered supply of minerals will increase their cost, and as a result ship prices will increase as well. So now I have to run more missions (in which I'll make slightly less isk in) for the same thing.
How the **** is everyone so happy about this expansion? Planetary interaction is code-name for "Since Dust 514 is going to come out, lets help the rich get richer!" If it doesn't lower some cost for me, I'll be utterly displeased.
Although I say this, EVE is still undoubtedly my favorite game, but at the same time, I don't understand how CCP could ever have decided that missions needed a nerf. How about that survey they sent out about mission-running some months back? Did they not remember the bit about how tedious running missions is? They obviously don't give a **** about what th players think?
P.S.: When we get CCP pathnotes, please tell us exactly how things are changing rather than just a general idea. (ex. "Drone Compound volume is being decreased" vs "Drone Compound volume is being decreased by 25%" It's not too much to ask is it?
Talk to all the miners who have had their professions completely trivialized. Now put some more thought into it. Mineral prices go up, people start mining more, prices go back down. It's the market, it fluctuates...you've played this game before right? :)
Quit whining; at least wait to see what happens first.
That's probably true that miners will mine more and ship prices will go back down in time, but at the same time, that doesn't stop me from making extra money does it? Like I said, EVE will always be my favorite game, but at the same time, I think I have the right to be bothered by a huge expansion making it more difficult for me to make money, considering I already put so much time into missions... Do you really think that this is a necessary change in any case? I'm not sure exactly how many miners there are around, but I'm going to go with the term "a lot". (even relatively speaking by profession) Taking isk out of the hands of mission runners and putting it in the hand of miners is not something that I appreciate to say the least. I'm on the wrong end of it after all, and so - I express my discontent.
I consider it venting btw, not whining, although for the rest of you in your "Awesome Tyrannis bubble", I understand that it could be perceived that way...
Mining has been getting hurt for a while and there is alot of it to do with macro-miners going through belts like a hot knife through butter. The removal of certain keys being able to be shortcut'ed may help for a little bit, but i think they need to implement another "Operation Unholy Rage" against the marco-users since they are violating the EULA. Gather statistics that only a macro-miner can produce and use that as a base line to catch and lockout their operations. As for the markets, things will balance out like a real free-market should. |

thank you for that timer. it's not hard kiddies to figure out time differences. Your computer has that clock function and with that lets you choose your timezone (with +/- GMT or UTC). the rest should be easy to figure out if you know 1st grade math.

i would not download a not offical released patch, becouse CCP has 5 - 6 hours to do some last minute changes... which would couse some trouble with your client if they do so.
BR, Joker
good call. though i'll DL from that link and wait till CCP has things running to make sure the client is the same. That way I'll at least have it ready to install should the versions match and avoid the majority of the rush.

Originally by: Tizona biggest display of ignorance and impatience to date.
Ignorance is defined as "ill-informed" ..meaning you're NOT informed. It's not an insult, but has somehow evolved to a form of insult by use out of proper context and inherited definition from said context.
I typed that out to cover my ass against idiots that want to flame me for calling them ignorant, and associating that with being stupid. The being stupid part.. well.. for some, that just comes naturally. ..like not paying attention for the past few months at least.. they've only been talking about it forever now it seems.
The impatience part.. that's self-explanatory. Anyone who's complaining about these few hours of DT while the game expands for the *13th TIME* should be ganked on sight in-game.
"WAAAAH I PAID FOR THIS TIME WAAAAAAAH."
on average, that's 50 cents a day. ..shut up. You should feel BLESSED that the creators of this entertainment utility were GENEROUS enough to actually SHARE their idea/creation/vision with people who don't appreciate anything. Most of you act like you're GD ENTITLED to this *game*.
Grow up.
Don't forget that we don't have to pay extra like most expansions in other games.

Originally by: Pikoro What they SHOULD do is have the client updates for major expansions available for download by torrent. That way, the 40,000 users trying to download at the same time would HELP each other instead of hinder each other. I'll download the full client and torrent it when it's available. Link in this thread.
very wise. Torrents == Good

hm it would be nice if you could calculate also star date and maybe gregorian date nice would also be the solar date and the moon phase to it
+1 And if possible : the Julian Calendar, the Maya Calendar, the Chinese Calendar, the Meyer-Palmen Solilunar Calendar and the Liberalia Triday Calendar.
LOL if someone made an app with all that, i'd use it just to mess with people
and in regards to Atlantis, it's the end of an Age. No long will the US have manned access to space under their own means.

you say 40.000 ppl would download the patch at the same time...
becouse the worl is a sphere and not a pizza probably 20.000 are sleeping.
form the 20.000 probably 5.000 are at work, and 5.000 are doing something normal like having seks, doing some sports, out for a drink, in cinema or whatever...
so only 10.000 ppl will try to download the patch at the same time!
This amount of downloads is easy to handle with 3 servers...
so STOP PANIC and take a drink, go have sex, or watch a movie!
Br, Joker
lol, well for me, it's: 1)nearly 8am so drinking is generally discouraged and I'm not an alcoholic in which i would think of doing that. 2)unless I'm watching them at home, going out to a movie is out of the question. 3)wife just gave birth to my beautiful son and it's doctor's orders of no nookie for 6 weeks (really sucks, but that's life).
so that leaves me here to watch merrily the conversations going on in the forum....though I might make myself a bite to eat whilst I wait. If the game isn't up by 1800 UTC and there isn't any word from CCP, then I'll start getting anticipant.

actually, the Orion shuttle program was canceled by Obama due to the fact that he slashed the NASA budget. so we won't have manned space flight for some time. but hey, remote robots can do anything a human can do and just as fast with leaps of intuition.......right?
and thanks Joker.

Factually untrue, but don't let that bother you overmuch.
ok, the program is being shut down as a NASA program, but Lockheed Martin is continuing it's development of other services such as it being used as a rescue vehicle. So i guess we'll be looking at Virgin Galactic as our next viable means in the US to get people into space on our terms. Yay, private sector i guess.
<edit> and wow, i have no access to page 18 for some odd reason.

1)umm.. yeah.. to many peple have gone into others on that so i'll pass. @) you're right communism IS back; of which I'm sadly disappointed it's showing it's face in the US. (but I'll stop my comments there and refuse to go further into it here)
as for rainbows... the definition of one, not the slang it's been associated with clearly shows that prismed light through water droplets suspending in the atmosphere has no sexual orientation and so a sexist remark can't be stated. Though if that remark was interpreted in your own head, perhaps you are already out looking for a fight and not in a healthy state of mind to continue your daily actions. to each their own, i say, but don't be throwing negative remarks into things that clearly have no connection to your current train of thought.

that's in interesting notion about the rocket containers, but would suck rather hard if that was doable.

Jita isn't the end all, be all of the market. at least it shouldn't be.
and with that i'm off to bed. Been up for about 17 hours now. good luck with rushing to be the first on. The real race for planets doesn't start till the PCCs become available, but i guess there is always the skills to start training.
